In an age when personal transport becomes an increasingly important part of the daily life, seeing the emergence of gadgets like Movpack is a thing to cheer. Not everybody will be as thrilled as we were when we stumbled upon this amazing thingie, but we do know that those who will get it will have a ton of fun.
Movpack is the synthesis of multiple objects we need every day, but manages to integrate them in such a clever way that we'd rather call it a true multifunctional gadget. Basically, Movpack is a combination between an electric skateboard and a backpack, with the particularity that the skateboard can collapse and retract inside.

In this form, the Movpack can be carried like a casual rucksack or towed like a trolley, using the retractable handle. The makers of the Movpack installed two electric motors in the skateboard wheels, and they can hurl the rider with a top speed of 20 mph (32 km/h) in ideal conditions, while the max range is 14 miles (22.5 km).

For acceleration and braking, the Movpack uses a small remote control that makes everything easy and intuitive. The backpack comes with interior lighting, front and rear LED lights, and a port for recharging your smartphone while on the go. No mention was made as to how much energy Movpack stores, but it can be recharged using a wall outlet in just two hours, so it's neither huge, nor too heavy.

Even more, thanks to a dedicated Movpack app and loudspeaker integrated in the backpack, riders can use their phone for navigation, various queries (Siri users), and even listen to music. A tracking beacon is also on the menu, so you can easily find your Movpack in case it goes missing or someone steals it.

Exchange skins are available, and the Movpack can be also detached from the skateboard and be used as a casual bag. The Movpack Indiegogo campaign is already overfunded, so this neat gadget will make it into production.

Movpack will retail for $1,200 (€1,060), but you can still get one for around half that price, thanks to a new early bird offer that lets you ride one for just $699 (€620).
