Alabama-based Motus Motorcycles has a completely different vision when it comes to hot-rodded bike engines, and in case the KMV4 engine was not enough, here's its crate version, the Motus V4 Baby Block.
The Motus V4 Baby Block is a savage V4 beast packing 1650cc (100 cui) delivering more than 165 hp and promising insane torque right off idle and throughout the whole rpm range. The Motus V4 Baby Block will be of course, delivered with its ECU, ride-by-wire intake, engine harness, and fuse box, ready to be installed in hobbysts' project bikes and roll away.

In case you were wondering whay did the Motus sport-touring bike come with a $30,000 price tag, telling you that the V4 Baby Block retails for $10,220 (€7,595) should make things a bit easier to figure out.

As key features of their new engine, Motus adds:

1. 1650cc (100ci), liquid cooled, cast aluminum 90° V4 w/ steel liners
2. Cam-in-the-block, 2 OHV
3. Splayed lifters for maximum valvetrain stability
4. Aluminum cylinder heads w/ splayed & canted valves for max. flow and combustion efficiency
5. Automotive-style low mass, low inertia roller rocker arms
6. Maintenance-free hydraulic roller lifters
7. 4340 forged steel I-beam connecting rods
8. 3-ring forged aluminum pistons with moly coating
9. Wet sump w/ integral pick-up, serviceable screen, magnetic drain plug
10. 4 bolt main bearing girdle for maximum strength and durability
11. Investment cast 4340 one-piece crank w/ automotive-style plain bearings
12. Gerotor oil pump, integrally cast internal water pump
13. CFD optimized, precision cast water jackets
14. Closed loop 250kBd multi-point fully sequential fuel injection
15. Ride-by-wire w/ electronic throttle control (ETC)
16. Cast individual runner manifold w/ 4 x 40mm contoured bore downdraft throttle bodies
17. 12 bolt bellhousing (9.5” bolt circle) for easy application adaptation
18. Spare bosses for alternate accessory drives and motor mounts

The rest is up to each builder, but we'd certainly like to see more custom bikes rolling with a V4 Baby Block heart.
