Suzuki's MotoGP team was quite busy these days, as Davide Brivio's crew ran no less than 5 days of extensive testing: 3 last week after the Misano race, and two more at Mugello. Both tests had riders Randy de Puniet and Nobuatsu Aoki aboard the development bike.
It looks like Suzuki has learned a lot after the Mugello test, as they were quite happy to see that the new parts they tested proved to help the bike work better.
Suzuki tested a new chassis, new electronic setup and a new fairing, managing to improve both speed, rear wheel traction and engine braking for entering the turns faster and with more confidence.
The weather was really good and allowed both de Puniet and Aoki to test the bike in full force, with Suzuki confirming they've found a new development direction.
This was the last test for Aspar's Randy de Puniet and he openly declared he was sorry all was over. "I'm a little sad that this was the last test for this season, as I've enjoyed riding this bike and working with the Suzuki Factory Team. I hope I will have more opportunities to ride again in the future and to continue improving this bike," the French rider told MotoGP.com.
Suzuki will continue developing the bike during the winter, with more tests following in 2014, prior to their announced comeback in MotoGP in 20145.
