Planning to make a comeback in MotoGP in 2015, Suzuki have a busy testing and development calendar, and their latest testing session took place this week at the Twing Ring Motegi circuit in Japan.

With the first day of test hampered by the unforgiving rain which forced all the teams (Suzuki, Yamaha and Honda with Casey Stoner aboard), it was the second one to be the most important. Suzuki has tested two chassis versions and went on to understand how the bike performance varies under certain conditions.

One of the chassis was chosen for further development and Suzuki will have it at the next official MotoGP tests in Misano, Italy, in September.

De Puniet's laps were in the mid-48s, with 1m48s60 being the fastest. Not exactly better than some previous laps he put in at Motegi but in line of what the other teams did, Suzuki's performance was a bit hindered by the excessive heat, with 30 degrees in the air and more than 50 centigrade at the track level, reducing the grip.

Suzuki MotoGP Test Team Manager Davide Brivio added that the team was happy after the Motegi test, and the data they gathered will be a good asset for the next test in Italy.
