Hector Barbera: Bye-Bye Tonsils!
"Bye bye tonsils!" wrote MotoGP rider Hector Barbera on Twitter one hour before the time this news was published.
The winter break is not only for fun and games, rest and relaxation for the MotoGP riders. It is also the best time for surgeries, fixing and adding the finishing touches to recoveries from past injures.

However, sometimes these surgeries are also on the fun side and today it's the turn of Hector Barbera to have his tonsils removed. So we figure out he'll be in for several days worth of eating a lot of ice cream.

Other riders have taken their time to undergo various surgeries, such as Dani Pedrosa for a plate removal, Marc Marquez for septum deviation, or Karel Abraham for his shoulder problems, to name just a few.

Cal Crutchlow is also in for the surgeon's scalpel to fix his swollen forearm, but we guess he was waiting to get married first.
