The FIM and Dorna Sports have revealed the conclusions of the meeting the two had on December 10 in Madrid with representatives of Moto3 manufacturers and the IRTA.
KTM, Honda and Mahindra officials attended the meeting, and agreed on new Moto3 price caps which are to be enforced starting with the 2015 season. As IRTA's Herve Poncharal declares, the price caps are aimed at providing a more competitive environment in the feeder category.

Team managers will be able to get a very competitive machine with less expenses and this should add more excitement to the next 2 or 3 seasons, Poncharal says.

The 2015 price caps are €85,000 ($ including an annual evolution) for the chassis and €60,000 ($) per year per rider in engines, except gearboxes. Other commercial rules will also become effective in the future, allowing each team to decide which chassis will they be using in the following season.

As for the penalty points, the Grand Prix Commission states that they will be applied with a duration of one year. This means that a penalty point handed to a rider in 2014 will remain on his racing license for 365 days, and not through the end of the season.

Check with the FIM press release after the jump.
