We've got huge Guzzi enthusiast Ewan McGregor introducing Moto Guzzi's third creation based on the California 1400 platform, but this time, we're dealing with a hefty dose of menacing bike design.
We introduced the Eldorado yesterday with the same Ewan McGregor, but its matte black sibling is a completely different story. While the Eldorado was about calm, laid-back touring, the Audace (Italian for daring or bold) stands for showing off the muscle, and comes with a more upright position that also favors more aggressive riding.

Of course, in terms of tech features, the Audace and the Eldorado are almost identical twins, but the engine mapping of the former is bolder. Riding reports mention the Audace as a bike with a sportier feel, responding better and faster to the RbW throttle. Moreover, some riders even said that the engine feels a bit too lively for the frame...

All-black, minimal chrome livery

Audace has been stripped of all the "classic" elements, and got forks with casual looks after dropping the stanchion covers. The bars have been replaced with drag ones with tall, arched risers for a more aggressive position and effortless steering.

The full floorboards were binned and replaced by pegs, and the retro-ish Eldorado front fender gave way to a carbon fiber one, while the seat received an exquisite Alcantara leather cover.

Little space was saved for chrome accents, with the headlight and central instrument cluster bezels being about all that's shiny on the Audace. The rest of the bike got a matte black livery that extends to the engine, collectors, mirrors, and exhausts.

The 1380cc V-twin delivers the same 96 hp like the lump on the Eldorado does, with a slightly higher peak torque at higher revs, and this means 121 Nm (89.2 lb-ft) at 3,000 rpm.

Audace retains the three engine mappings, 6-speed shaft transmission, radial Brembo front calipers and all the bells and whistles of the Eldorado. If sober goes with muscle in your books, then Moto Guzzi Audace is the answer.
