Most Profitable Vehicles Sold in US Revealed

Bernstein Research has announced an automotive study detailing the most profitable vehicles sold in the US since 1990. As everybody probably already knows already, the list start out with the big pickups that always make a lot of money for the Detroit Big Three when market conditions are right.
The first place goes to the Ford F-Series pickups, followed by GM’s Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra. In third place, we find Chrysler’s Ram truck, completing the picture.
This result is mainly due to the fact that full-sized pickups rely less on advanced technology to sell, and more on brand image and customer demand. Profit is also made when customers specify a lot of luxury goodies.

Further down the line, it’s all pretty much made up of luxury vehicles, starting with the Mercedes S-Class and followed by two BMWs, the 5er and 3er.

However, big SUV like the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Luxus RX line are also making money. This is a volume based study, so the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry are also there because they have strong delivery numbers.
