The newest and perhaps the hottest Morgan creation of recent years, the EvaGT, has been revealed in all its glory at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California. Set to enter production sometime in 2012, the model will only see a limited production run of about 100 units. The price is rumored to be in between 70,000-85,000 pounds.

The EvaGT will be powered by a twin-turbo 3.0l straight six engine sourced from BMW (N54), a unit which is capable of developing 302 horsepower and 295lb-ft of torque. According to initial information, the unit will be capable of propelling the EvaGT from naught to sixty in 4.5 seconds while on route to the top speed of 170 mph (273 km/h).

The performances are also made possible with the help of the other components of the car. The EvaGT weighs for instance 1250 kg, while the body is 4.7 meters long, 1.8 meters wide and 1.2 meters tall. The small weight allows the engine to provide a fuel economy of 40 mpg and CO2 emissions of 200g/km.

The EvaGT is fitted, as any modern car, with electronic stability control, xenon headlights, satellite navigation, multi-stage airbags and hydraulic-only power steering system. All neatly packed in a somewhat retro-style body.

“It’s intended to be capable as serving as everyday family transport as well as a luxury GT. The rear seats will be comfortable for children and small adults, and should serve for occasional use for taller occupants,” Charles Morgan, the owner of Morgan explained in an interview with Autocar the reasons which led to the creation of the Eva.
