Morgan 3 Wheeler, Half a Car, Double the Fun

It's not very often that we have the chance to see a vehicle worth being tagged with the word “fun.” In fact, those moments are so rare that we can't even remember writing about a fun vehicle. But, if we are to judge by what comes our way from Morgan, the wait has been worth it.

Enter the 3 Wheeler, a promise made by Morgan in the final months of last year. And by enter, we mean behold the living and breathing vehicle, packed, wrapped and ready to hit the roads with ridiculously happy people on board.

But let's take it one wheel at a time, if you don't mind. How many of you know what a Morgan Threewheeler is (aside for the self-describing name given to the thing, of course)?

The term Threewheeler, used by Morgan ever since the first decade of last century, described a way to avoid the British tax on cars. Three-wheeled vehicles were considered to be motorcycles, so the wise guys of the 1910s or so could enjoy the thrill of a car drive at no extra cost.

Despite this humble beginning, the Threewheelers soon began probably the best fun ride in town. Especially if the threewheeler you drove was called Morgan.

As if trying to bring back the glory days, the company will relaunch the design this year, but with a touch of high-end technologies. Something like a threewheeler packing an S&S V Twin fuel injected engine (115 horsepower) and a Mazda five speed gearbox.

So, the new 3 Wheeler brings back the looks from the good old days and the mechanics of the modern age. All neatly wrapped in a package that will set you back GBP25,000 ($40,280, EUR29,205). Before tax. Full details below.
