We showed you the first video of the Zapata Racing Flyboard Air in action yesterday, and there were some elements that introduced certain "iffy" things in the equation.

From blurred parts to an overall atmosphere that could have been the result of a very good hoax-focused team, the initial video made us take things with a grain of salt. The second one, which you can check out after the jump, appears to be a different matter altogether.

The images look rawer and the whole thing simply looks more natural. Still we can't get a good picture of what is underneath the Flyboard Air, but it indeed looks like there are multiple thruster nozzles there. Also, the Flyboard appears to be indeed powered by fuel stored in the rider's backpack, as we can see some lines that link the platform and the would-be tank.

The helicopter turbine sound is also there, and this factual coherence sort of makes us believe that the initial video was not a fake. Still no Flyboard Air details arrived from Zapata Racing, but at least they keep the videos coming, and our hopes alive.

Honestly, we'd love to see the Zapata Racing Flyboard Air becoming a mass-production item. It could open a whole new direction in personal transport, even though, as it is right now, it is hardly usable for anything else than crazy fun.

Not at all sure whether jet-powered aerial mobility is going anywhere, but when it comes to extreme sports, the Flyboard Air is maybe one of the most thrilling gadgets we saw in the past five years or so. Wonder when the first aero-stunt videos will surface...
