According to a report from AutoExpress, Subaru’s head of global marketing Atoshi Atake was inundated with requests for the more powerful version.
“Let me say this – we will certainly satisfy our customers,” said Atanke frankly. “We are already working on a faster version.”
But the faster model might not be an STI version at all. If we remember correctly, when Motor Trend tested the BRZ last year, they found there was absolutely no room for a turbo under he hood. Indeed, Mr. Atake admits the more powerful BRZ will have a tweaked exhaust and intake, but definitely no turbo: “we want to keep turbocharging separate. It is for models like the WRX STI.”
