The arrival of an STI version of the BRZ sportscar looks to be a certainty now, as the Japanese automaker is showing a concept version at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show that’s near to a production version. Recent rumors also point toward a motorsport application in the next year’s season of Japanese touring car races, where the BRZ STI will be limited to 300 horsepower.

The concept that debut with the LA Auto Show features sport features like a quad exhaust, a big wing an a splitter at the front, all of which have been added to the body that’s been painted in a new color WR Blue Pearl II, which is a new version of the iconic World Rally Blue.

In addition, the roof has been switched to a carbon fiber one that lowers the center of gravity even more. Other changes include STI-tuned stiffened suspension, Brembo brakes and 18-inch alloy wheels. The base BRZ is expected in Spring 2012 for $25,300, so we might have a while to wait a bit for the STI.
