Is Mercedes-Benz getting ready for a mission to the Moon? We really don't know, but it sure looks like it, after two 6-wheeled G63 AMG pickups was spotted by the Germans.
Already built as a multi-purpose vehicle for the Australian and Swedish military, these 6x6 G63 AMG photographed by German website AutoBild seem to be civilian versions heading to the Middle East.

There's no official information about this monstrous pickup, but we can very well notice it's riding on off-road tires, with Hutchinson rims, mounted to special axles that give the G-Class an almost Unimog-like ride-height. The special chassis also has Ohlins dampers and a tire pressure control system.

According to the German source, this 6-wheeled pickup may very well have the common G63 AMG 5.5-liter V8 Biturbo under the hood, but it's unlikely for the vehicle to have the same performance as the normal and not-so-frightening SUV.

We're really anxious to find out if this contraption is really a civilian client-destined version, and we'll get back on the subject as soon as possible.
