LambofanX recorded some really interesting shots of the Roding Roadster ‘23’ for us at Tom Marques 2012 in Monaco. The car made its debut little over a month ago at the Geneva Motor Show, but now we got to see the practical side of the car that was driven all round the famous city. It’s even got room to fit a pair of skis under the front bonnet… somehow.
The reason why the Roding doesn’t have a nervous breakdown under the Monaco sun is because it’s powered by a very practical and well engineered engine, the 3.0-liter straight six turbo from a BMW 3-Series.
The 320 hp this puts our is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox. Thanks to its carbon fiber body, the Roadster has a power-to-weight ratio of 3kg/hp. So 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) takes only 3.9 seconds. The car was honed over a number of years on the Nurburgring.
