Mom Drives With Her Son on The Hood After He Refuses to Go to The Dentist

A good dental hygiene is important and every mother should put an honest effort into instilling this into her kids. However, from that to driving with a kid on the hood of the car because he’s afraid to go to the dentist is quite a jump.

One woman from Bethlehem Township, Northampton County, in Pennsylvania took that jump the other day. Not only did Shaurice Jones drive with her son on the hood of the car, but she actually drove to the police with him like that, LehighValleyLive reports.

The report doesn’t mention why she went to the cops immediately, so we could assume she was feeling guilty about acting so stupidly. The cops didn’t care for any of that, so they charged her with child endanger and reckless endangerment.

According to Jones’ statement, she drove with her 12-year-old son into the township for a visit at the dentist’s. Once in the parking lot, the boy panicked and refused to go inside. In his panic and trying to prevent his mother for grabbing and dragging him inside, he climbed on the car’s hood.

This is when things took a turn for the strange: instead of being an understanding mother and waiting for the tantrum or the panic attack or whatever it was to pass, Jones got behind the wheel and drove off. She told the police she went for about 2 miles, to the police station, and didn’t exceed the speed limit of 40 mph.

The report doesn’t mention the state of the teen when they arrived at the station, but as of the time of writing, Jones has been released from custody – on $1,000 unsecured bail. She doesn’t have legal representation yet and the number she listed with her address is not working, so she can’t be reached for comment.
