Is 272 a large or a small number? Well, if we're talking about the production run of a particular automobile, the answer is obvious, while this figure perfectly describes how many 288 GTOs Ferrari has brought to life. So it would be difficult to hold something against a purist complaining about this one receiving the modernization treatment, wouldn't it?
Then again, we're looking at a mere rendering here. And while slammed Ferraris are nothing out of the ordinary these days, this isn't the kind of pixel play that will lead to a real-world build.

With that out of the way, I have to note that the rendering doesn't simply play to the tune of the widebody trend that has taken over social media these days.

Sure, the arches are beefier, albeit with the integration being the kind that doesn't scream "custom car" in your face. But we also have other elements here, such as those LED taillights.

The new light clusters appear to be part of a modernization process, one that would bring the look of the 288 GTO closer to modern times. in fact, there are more custom touches on this digital piece, but I'll let you pick out each one zooming in on the instagram post below.

However, rendering iconic machines in a way that makes them appear showroom-worthy in 2019 is a trend of its own. And here's an example that will make Lamborghini lovers feel like they're a part of the act.

If you've made this to this part of the story, but still feel this 288 GTO rendering is too much, perhaps you should see what happens when the Internet has its way with its successor. You know, the all-mighty F40.

Oh, and you might also want to stay away from the little clip where YouTube label Tax The Rich treats the 288 GTO like a rally car...
