There’s nothing cooler than a restomoded car - classic looks too admire and modern underpinnings for reliability and performance. What can you ask for more? It’s already cult and it seems to be spreading to old trucks as well. We stumbled upon a 1950 Dodge Power Wagon powered by an LS3 engine for sale.
The first Dodge Power Wagon entered the market in 1946 as a rival for the Ford/Marmon-Herrington 4x4 military trucks. However, it ended up being the first of its kind to be offered directly for civilian use and after numerous changes, the nameplate went out of sight in 1981 along with the introduction of the Dodge Ram. It was then resurrected in 2005, when the Power Wagon became a version of the Ram 2500.

True rock crawler

But enough with the history and let’s return to our little truck for sale. As I was saying, that’s a fully restored 1950 Dodge Power Wagon with some neat extras. The long narrow hood shelters a massive 6.2-liter Hot Cam Chevy LS3 V8 engine cranking 480 hp which is mated to a TH400 automatic transmission and an Atlas 3.8:1 twin-stick transfer case.

All the grunt is transferred to both axles via Tom Wood’s driveshafts, turning those massive 39.5-inch Irok Radial tires. Linking the wheels to the body is a custom suspension with adjustable 14-inch King coil overs with remote reservoirs to offer great performance both on- and off-road. Yep, it’s road legal too.

The interior comes with things like a Mojave heater with defrost, an Autometer instrument panel, a B&M shifter and Corbeau seats. The only thing it doesn’t have is a proper bed, but the seller says it can fabricate a cool-looking one for about $13,000. A bit too much if you ask us, considering the current price of the truck is at $79,950 (€70,757).
