With the current sixth-gen Camaro having been with us since 2015, we're all waiting to see what GM has in store for this iconic label. And while the automaker is rather tight-lipped (more on this below), digital artists provide relief by delivering renderings that explore the Camaros we've been enjoying since the 1960s.
Case in point with the pixel work that now occupies your screens, which brings us a modernized version of the first-gen model.

To be more precise, this example features the 1969 revamp, which added some serious badassery on the visual level. However, the RS appearance package, with its concealed headlights, is not present. In fact, this is a '69 Yenko Camaro, which features a 427ci (7.0-liter) V8 with 425 hp on tap. However, given the fact that only 201 units were built and these command supercar prices these days, seeing one receiving such a transformation in real life is highly unlikely.

Car News Network, the social media label responsible for the work, came up with a brief exercise that gifts the 'Maro with a restomod look.

It all starts up front, where the halogen lights are replaced by newer units with LED rings, while the old-school grille is replaced by hardware coming from the current car, Chevy emblem and all.

The air dam below the chrome bumper is still present, but this has grown quite a bit. And, if we zoom in on the front fenders, we'll notice dive planes resembling those offered by the 1LE package, which allowed the Camaro ZL1 to master the Nürburgring back in 2017.

A single angle is pictured, but we can still see the diffuser that now hangs underneath the original rear bumper (the latter would probably be tucked inside the body on an actual build).

As far as the side view is concerned, the side skirt extensions are joined by more complex surface treatment for the panels above them. Of course, modern wheels and tires are present.

Returning to what lies ahead for the Camaro, it's obvious that the nameplate is in dire need of assistance, with 2020 figures showing that the Mustang outsold it two-to-one.

GM recently teased a silhouette of what's expected to be a Camaro EV, and we can link this potential pathway the eCOPO Camaro drag racing one-off and the expected battery-powered Corvette SUV.

Then there are the reports talking about the current Camaro receiving a life cycle expansion; with the help of various updates, the platform could soldier on until 2026. And, as demonstrated by the current Dodge Charger, which has been in production since 2008, but still left the Camaro far behind in last year's sales race, you can teach an old dog new tricks.
