Modern Buick GSX Stage 1 Rebirth Fancies Camaro-Based Return to Fighting Mopars

Back when Pontiac’s GTO Judge, Oldsmobile's 4-4-2 W-30, or the Chevy Chevelle SS ruled GM’s classic era of American muscle cars, there was also an interesting entry from Buick. So, how about a modern CGI return?

Buick, just like Chrysler, is one of those “forgotten brands that still exist” across the American car market. Which is kind of sad, considering their glorious legacy. Sure, both Stellantis and GM will probably ensure their survival, but it’s anyone’s guess if they will also give them any chances to try and stage a return to their former glory.

Most likely, these brands will only get a new chance to shine once their parents complete their EV revolutions. Alas, there is one virtual artist who still wants at least one of them to have an ICE chance at staging a glorious comeback.

Timothy Adry Emmanuel, the pixel master better known as adry53customs on social media, thinks of a very rare muscle car and gives us a modernized version. Frankly, it is a decidedly nutty idea because it eschews the usual suspects in favor of the great, but lesser-known (outside of the vintage muscle car arena) Buick GSX.

Naturally, he went directly at the top and thought about a reinvented GSX Stage 1 “if GM decided to take on the Challenger” with their Buick brand. In his yellow-and-black vision, the latter could easily snatch the current slow-selling Chevy Camaro architecture and imagine a Buick wonder on the chassis. Which isn’t an outrageous thought.

What is a potential cause for polemics, on the other hand, is the design of the “badass” Buick stemming from the mind of this CGI expert. It has cartoonish qualities, but they are all well explained in the associated commentary. And, somehow, everything makes total sense.

Unfortunately, at this threshold point in the automotive industry’s history, it is not that hard to imagine that GM’s head honchos would never dare to venture back onto the American passenger car scene with a Buick GSX. Not to mention they would probably never dare to spend money and revive a rather obscure version of the departed Skylark/Gran Sport series.
