The Hummer EV pickup is probably very cool, but it can't match the appeal of the original military-to-road Humvee. And to prove that it has nothing to do with the brand going electric, we found a concept that combines the Mk1 model with all the modern performance of an EV.
Why are H1s cool? Because it's not like anything else on the road. The vehicle was designed purely for military use and defies the conventions of the automobile industry. Nobody would even be able to drive the Hummer if it wasn't for the Alpha man of action movies, mister Arnold Schwarzenegger.

An early Hummer can cost anywhere from about $100,000, so when we call this rendering a 'restomod', we immediately realize that such a conversion might even venture into hypercar territory. We know many people thought about EV conversions for the H1, and even though it's not real, the design of Samir Sadikhov feels tangible.

Samir is amazing at his job. This isn't an opinion, just a fact based on him designing two cool Genesis concepts, as well as the Rezvani Tank. The man clearly knows how to make a simple box shape look cool and futuristic.

The trademark of the early Humvee is its width, designed around the ability to straddle itself into the tracks left by tanks while leaving enough room between the rear passengers to store large armaments or a wounded soldier. Samir uses this to accommodate a large battery.

The revisions to the bodywork are done in the restomod style, as numerous features now look way more expensive. It's even got cameras instead of door mirrors. What a legend!

We think electricity is a good fit for any Hummer, be that the new one GM is cooking or the classic. This is a vehicle that's so large and heavy that no amount of engine horsepower is too much. Bug give this 1000 horsepower from dual motors that also deliver a bajillion pound-feet of torque (not actual number) and you've got a hot rod.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
