Modern 1957 Aston Martin DBR2 by Rizk Auto

Vintage sports racing cars have always been the most admired vehicles by automobile fans, Only think about the stories that could be told by such a car. That is why rebuilding a 1957 Aston Martin DBR2 using modern technology was both challenging and risky for the guys at Rizk Auto, Arizona. This racing car’s design made a strong positive impression on the public ever since it was first launched and is still considered to be a masterpiece. However, Rizk Auto didn’t restore an already existing DBR2, but recreated its exact shape around a modern chassis designed using Formula 1 technology by a former Formula 1 engineer. We must admit that Rizk Auto did a great job in keeping the main design characteristics of an original DBR2, which they say it was possible thanks to the laser scanning method. “To encapsulate the spirit of the original shape, we tracked down a body that was built of restoration wooden bucks from the original car. This was laser 3D scanned onto a computer which clearly highlighted the gaping panel fits, and complete lack of uniformity in curvature and symmetry,” says on the Rizk Auto website. According to Luxist, the car is available for custom order, though no pricing has been yet announced. Technical details below:
