When we walked around the Shanghai Auto Show, the big collection of copycats was rather what had our attention, than the lack of sexy models next to the cars. Ladies were there, but things remained rather formal, no short dresses, no tight shirts and definitely no sexy dancing scenes were present.
However, we still haven’t made our minds whether or not we agree with China’s decision to ban racy models from this year’s Shanghai Motor Show, but it appears there were some civic reactions.

It turns out some of the hot models that were left out of jobs because of the decision decided to take a stand and protest. According to Shanghaiist, a group of jobless models staged a stirring protest in Xujiahui the other day, fighting for their right to be paid to grin on cars.

As it can be observed in the pictures, the protestors were clearly wearing attractive outfits, similar to the provocative clothes they would normally use at auto shows. They also wear some make up that was meant to give them a homeless look.

Apparently they pretended to beg on the curbside outside of Metro City at the Xujiahui Station while carrying signs that had messages like “we want to survive!” on them.

The ladies’ call was heard as many netizens wrote in to support the models, admitting they were rather attractive. Nevertheless, opinions are both for and against banning the girls from auto show among locals, but the courage to protest and the way they did it was admirable, we’ll give them that. What do you guys think, should there or shouldn’t there be racy models at auto shows?
