Modellista is a common name amongst Lexus aficionados, mainly due to their wide body kits that end up on the brand's cars, and now it's LX's turn to get a taste of the Japanese aftermarket scene.
Aside from triggering a wave of interest from wealthy customers living in Saudi Arabia, the updated Lexus LX 570 managed to draw the attention of designers and tuners alike.
We've already discussed about how the SUV received an F-Sport treatment that is just a unicorn if we look at its chances of going into production, but that's not why we're here. So let's focus for a second on the wide body kit Lexus-specialized tuner Modellista created for the 2016 Lexus LX 570.
As you'd expect, seeing an SUV wearing a widened outer shell is not necessarily eye candy, but Modellista made sure changes are rather discrete, so they don't go into unsafe territory with their creation. Trust us, we saw plenty of failed tuning examples on SUVs, and we're sure you've had your fair share of such flops.
In any case, the package offers a new front and rear spoilers, while at the back clients have two options: either leave the skirt by itself or add a new sports muffler setup with chrome touches. Also on the menu are a pair of 21-inch wheels with Dunlop GRANDTREK PT3A tires.
The bad news is the kit will only be available for Japanese customers looking to imbue their LX 570, which, by the way, was recently revealed in JDM-spec following its debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in Monterey, California.
AS far as price tags are concerned, Modellista is asking ¥183,600 ($1,485 at current exchange rates) for the front and rear spoilers, ¥302,400 ($2,447 at current exchange rates) for the muffler treatment and ¥594,000 ($4,808 at current exchange rates for the wheels).
Considering Lexus is asking ¥11 million for the LX 570 (roughly 88,700 at current exchange rates), those who opt for the visual treatment will have to pay a total of around ¥12 million (approximately $95,000, at current exchange rates).
