It's been a long and winding road since the original Fast & Furious movie. It's not secret that all the curves have led to drifting, albeit not the kind die-hard aficionados would've expected - these days, the series is more about putting on a show à la Hollywood rather than zooming in on the cars themselves. Of course, enthusiastic drivers are always ready to remind us of the infamous Muscle vs. Import race that ended the said 2001 motion picture.
This is 2021, so the amateur velocity brawl we have here doesn't feature the same four-wheeled stars. As such, the Mk IV Supra has made room for its successor, which isn't surprising, given the fact that the fifth generation of the Japanese sportscar was basically born as a tuner hero.

Speaking of which, the example we have here has been taken down the aftermarket path, albeit not that far. To be more precise, as stated in the footage below (lens tip to YT label Auto Glory), the Supra's BMW-sourced 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six motor now features a catless downpipe, as well as an E50 tune (50% ethanol). And while the new output hasn't been mentioned, these mods have the potential to take the unit well above the 500-horsepower mark.

As for Dom's 1970 Dodge Charger R/T, it has been replaced by a Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye. as the modern Charger has two extra doors, so this was the only way to stick with the coupe.

Unlike its competitor and the old-school beast mentioned above, for that matter, this Mopar machine came to the battle in factory form. As such, we can talk about a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 delivering a meaty 797 ponies. As a reminder, both vehicles come with ZF-supplied eight-speed automatic trannies.

As for the scale footprint difference between the two, it's a not-exactly-negligible 1,100 lbs (500 kilos).

Nevertheless, the Challenger has been gifted with smaller rear wheels, which allow for the more generous sidewall of the drag-friendly Mickey Thompson tires to help with the launch. We're looking at a pair of rolling battles, with the action kicking off at the 0:40 point of the clip below. As always, please don't use such street fights as example and head over to the drag strip when you feel like racing.
