Mobivia to Distribute Think City EV in France

Norwegian electric vehicle manufacturer Think announced yesterday it will be offering its yet single City electric vehicle in France through MOBIVIA Groupe, a conglomerate of companies which includes Norauto, Midas, Carter Cash, Maxauto and Synchro Diffusion.

Mobivia will set up a new division to handle City distribution, a division called O2City. The arrangement between the two companies represents the biggest contract signed by Think to date. The group plans to sell 100,000 vehicles throughout France by 2015.

“We could not wish for a stronger and better equipped partner for the sale of the THINK City in France,” said Richard Canny, Think CEO.

“O2City is very well placed to capitalise on ambitious French EV market development aspirations, with access to some 800 Mobivia centres nationwide, offering easily accessible and available servicing to early adopters of EV technology. We are delighted to be entering the French market with such a strong partner and with a product that’s actually in production and on sale right now.”

O2City has access to 800 sales and service facilities in France. The cars will be sold with complete packages, including financing, insurance, charging stations, home charging solutions, electric vehicle maintenance and after-sales service. The bulk of the orders are expected to come from fleet operators, including French postal service La Poste.

“The THINK City, with its robust EV design based on two decades and millions of kilometres of experience, is a perfect urban commuter solution for the congested streets of French cities, and forms a key part of our sustainable mission here at Mobivia,”
added Fabien Derville, managing director in charge of the Eco-Mobility division for Mobivia Groupe.
