The donkey old Mitsubishi Triton / L200 has been with us since 2004. Due to its age, the automaker will replace it with an all-new generation, which is slated to land in Australia by mid-2015. Still, there is some time left until the fourth-gen will hit the sack, leaving space for bye-bye special edition models.
One such limited-run model is the recently unveiled Mitsubishi Triton GLX-R Warrior, which will spawn a mere 300 copies, all of the to be made at Mitsubishi Motors Thailand’s Laem Chabang assembly plant.

Like any other Triton around, this one is powered by a 2.5-liter turbo diesel engine producing 131 kW (175 ponies) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque, oomph sent to all four wheels of the pickup truck. Priced from just AUD 43,990 ($36,276 / €29,210 at current exchange rates), this ute comes pretty extensively equipped considering how much you're charged for it.

Available in White (pictured), Cool Silver, Charcoal and Ironbark exterior finishes

The Mitsubishi Triton GLX-R Warrior is offered, as standard, with Super Select four-wheel drive, a locking diff, six-way power adjustable driver’s seat, a nice audio system and the Mitsubishi Multi Communication System, a nudge bar, fog lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, leather seats and a soft truck bed cover.

Available only in dual cab flavor, the GLX-R Warrior is mated to a five-speed manual transmission, while the optional five-speed automatic slush box hikes the AUD 43,990 sitcker to AUD 45,990 driveaway.

If our two cents were on the table, we’d spend that money on the all-new 2015 Mitsubishi Triton because the Triton GLX-R Warrior will certainly depreciate like a normal Triton despite its scarcity.
