Mitsubishi L200 Long Bed Version Released

The larger brother of the Mitsubishi L200, the Long Bed, has been released in the UK by the Japanese manufacturer. One of the differences between the two versions translate into an 18 cm increase in overall length for the new version, without sacrificing cabin space.

Due to limited factory supply, the pick-up truck will only come, for the time being, in Double Cab 4Work, 4Life, Warrior and Animal variants. The last two also boast a new engine, developed to create 176 horsepower, up from the previous 134 hp power output, while the first two variants have the same specifications as the Standard Bed version.

The L200 Warrior Long Bed brings, besides the upgraded engine, stability and traction control, super select 4WD and cruise control. As for comfort, the L200 features chrome door mirrors/handles, climate control, leather steering and gear shift, and chrome rear bar.

The L200 Animal Long Bed was provided with a power increase as well, now developing 176 hp, up from 166 hp. In addition to the standard specifications of the L200 range, it carries leather seats, Bluetooth, DVD satellite navigation with 7-inch screen, chrome door recess covers, fuel filler cap and tailgate cover, illuminated door entry guards and chrome lamp bezels.

The new L200 Long Bed will be available in several body colors: Starlight Sliver and Polar White (4Work and 4Life) and Starlight Sliver, Cosmos Black, Aztec Red, Graphite Grey and Sapphire Blue (Warrior and Animal).

As for prices, Mitsubishi says the power difference between the Standard and Long Bed is fully worth the extra £750 (excluding VAT) price customers will have to pay. The vehicle is subject to a 3 year/100,000 mile mechanical and a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty plus 3-year pan-European breakdown cover.
