Mitsubishi seems to be pretty disorientated right now, with the carmaker looking to become an eco-focused one and being ready to throw its performance legacy in the process. However, if the latest reports is true, it means that Mitsu isn’t quite ready to throw the go-fast towel. Mitsubishi is considering bringing back the Eclipse nameplate, as Ward’s Auto writes.
According to the carmaker, the Eclipse, which has sold almost one million units since it was first brought to the US in 1989, is the most successful Japanese sportscar in the US.
The move would make sense, since the sports car market’e current potential has been highlighted by the fact that many carmakers, such as Toyota and Subaru, with their Toyobaru project, are making efforts to play in this league.
