It's been a very long time since we first laid eyes on the Evo X and while the car is not getting any younger, a replacement could be just around the corner. Unfortunately, rumors suggest the XI might be some sort of unpalatable hybrid diesel.
If that idea rubs you in a bad way, why not relive the glory days with a current generation Evo that puts hair on your chest. Mitsubishi UK has just announced such a thing, an ultra-hardcore model which will be priced from £50,000 (equivalent to $82,700). It's called the FQ-440 MR and will be available in only 40 examples for the UK.

FOr that sort of money, you can buy yourself the Porsche Boxster S and still have money for options, but the mightiest of Evos is an impressive collection of numbers that assault the senses. Its 2-liter turbo mill delivers 440 hp at 6,800rpm and peak torque of 412 lb-ft at 3,100rpm. That's hugely impressive, considering the highest output series production 2-liter makes 360 hp.

Only 40 of them will be made for the UK market, though more might be built elsewhere. There's a whiff of "tuner's special" about all the custom parts that come with the FQ-440 MR, all of which you can found below.
