Mitas announces their all-new Sport Force radial tire, a nice move from the off-road focused production. The result of no less than 4 long years of R&D, the Mitas Sport Force is intended for use on sport, supermoto and sport-touring machinery.
With extensive expertise in creating tires for the most extreme uses, Mitas has bent their knowledge onto manufacturing a radial road tire which should offer both great grip, resistance to deformation and a more even tire wear.

The 3-D Optimum Groove Technology (OGT) aligns the tire grooves with the direction of the highest load when riding, making sure they do not intersect with the force lines. The groove depth also varies according to the tire wear patterns, offering better grip for a longer time, while special connecting ribs allow for a better heat dissipation and increased performance,

Sport Force tires also come with the Strong Carcass Technology (SCT), a special design which keeps the structural integrity of the worn tire closer to the original values of a new one, reducing the rigidity changes as thousands of miles are left behind.

Finally, Mitas used the Finite Element Analyses (FEA) for determining the optimum shape which allows both enough flexing and rigidity for extreme leaning angles.

For the front, Mitas offers 120/70 ZR17 (58W) TL, with 110/70 ZR17 (54W) TL and 120/60 ZR17 (55W) TL to become available in 2014. Rear tires are already available in sizes 150/60 R17 (66W) TL, 160/60 ZR17 (69W) TL and 180/55 ZR17 (73W) TL, with 190/50 ZR17 (73W) TL and 190/55 ZR17 (75W) TL making it to the shelves next year. No price was announced so far.
