Mission Motorcycles went a long distance bringing their new electric sport bikes from the prototype stage to production versions in only 24 months and here's one of the first hands-on experiences of their ultra-limited 40-unit run of RS bikes, courtesy of Jay Leno's garage.
Only 40 Mission RS will be available, and they will be the better, faster, more evil, race-speeced version of the R machine.
Öhlins FGRT forks and BST carbon fiber wheels, Brembo regenerative brakes, the RS is a true high-end bike which aims to take performance to the next level, without making compromises. It comes with a 1-speed transmission and all the torque is available instantly as the rider twists the throttle.
While it looks just like many other sportsbikes out there, the Mission RS is not that far from their performance, as well. An 163 HP motor delivers 160 HP at the wheel and 120 ft-lbs (162.7 Nm) of torque are there to quench the adrenaline thirst.
The bike also comes with a very intelligent onboard computer integrating navigation via Google Maps, providing performance data and being able to upload everything on the internet. That includes superimposing the HUD data over the stabilized images recorded by the onboard HD camera, too.
According to Leno's guest Mark Seeger, President of Mission Motorcycles, the price of the pictured bike is $29,000 (€21,215) but better batteries and other accessories will bring the price up. Enjoy!
