Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation Trailer 2: BMW Stunts, Dissolved IMF and Led Zeppelin

They had us at “Hello, we’re making a new Mission: Impossible movie starring Tom Cruise,” but it seems director Christopher McQuarrie couldn’t just stop there. He had to get BMW’s M3 and S1000RR doing some of the craziest stunts possible. And on top of that? Led Zeppelin playing their legendary “Whole Lotta Love” in the background. Yes, the Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation Trailer 2 is here, and it’s a blast.

Mission: Impossible is the proper name for a series of stunts that takes two worlds together and envisions the best out of both. Because let’s face it, driving bullet on tight streets, jumping from one place to the other, while crushing things in between is not an easy thing to pull out.

Take the BMW M3 featured in the fifth installment of the action series. The 52-year-old Hollywood star got to thrash around a couple of BMW F80 M3s and a couple of replicas, mind you, but we can’t blame him.

We all know that to make an omelette you have to break a few eggs. Then there’s the other piece of BMW legacy featured in the film, the 2015 model year S1000RR. We have no knowledge of the numbers of bikes they ended up ruining on set, but our fellow autoevolution motorcycle enthusiast tells us the superbike is proper piece speed machine.

Not that we’re not fond of the stunts, but there’s not much that beats Cruise’s swan dive into a treacherous whirlpool that cuts through 12 feet of concrete and contains 70,000 gallons of swirling and pressurized water. Event though he goes in without the benefit of an oxygen tank, we do get to see him driving the BMW once again on the streets.
