MINI Willing to Impress at the 2011 NAIAS

MINI has prepared a special offensive for this year’s Detroit Auto Show, as the 2011 edition of the event marks the 10 years of MINI activity in North America - the brand was relaunched in North America 10 years ago at NAIAS.

The company has more than done its homework: it will host the world premiere of the Paceman Concept at the event. The concept will be displayed along MINI’s current range, aiming to bring new customers to the brand. We are talking about a vehicle that uses a horizontal design emphasis, offering a high driving position.

The MINI Paceman concept provides further evidence of the MINI design team’s exceptional expertise in the development of totally new types of vehicle. It brings together the classical MINI concept, the defining features of the MINI Countryman and the style of a coupe to harmonious effect. The innovative study, whose crossover design makes it the first Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) in the small car segment, blends lifestyle elements with premium quality,” stated the press release.

The four-seater study (with two large doors) takes the fundamental strengths of MINI – its uniqueness, go-kart handling, agility and dynamic capability – and gives them a sporty, masculine flavour with the help of cutting edge technology and an innovative body concept.

And the story doens’t end here, as the Detroit show will also see the automotive producer introduce the Countryman in North America.

autoevolution will be attending the 2011 North American International Auto Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions.
