MINI has officially unveiled the Vision Concept, a study that previews the 2014 MINI Cooper. Revealed during the MINI Design@Home event, the Vision Concept showcases various design cues that will be seen in future MINI vehicles.
Described as a perfect balance between old and new, the MINI Vision classic features “future-focused aesthetic and technical innovations”. As you’ll notice in the photo gallery below, the Vision sports the familiar hexagonal radiator grille and headlamps, although the latter have been fitted with LED lights.

While the exterior is reminiscent of the current MINI and it's a natural proposal for a next-generation vehicle, the interior has been completely redesigned. A “floating” center console, sweeping door panels, Union Jack fabric straps for the doors and a predominantly blue color take this MINI into a completely new dimension. Very few features will be carried onto the production model, but it’s nice to see MINI’s design department is still alive and kicking.

“Its unbeatable scope for personalization and an extremely sporty and precise design make the MINI Vision the perfect partner for the road, tailored to the needs and preferences of the individual driver. This design vision demonstrates that MINI will continue to use intelligent variability, imagination-capturing technology and a compact sporting presence to deliver unrivalled driving fun over the years to come,” the company said in a statement.
