Jim McDowell might’ve retired from his position of CEO of MINI USA but that doesn’t mean that the ‘not normal’ character of the American branch will go with him. Oh no, his successor, David Duncan is more than worthy to keep the flame going. He just did the Ice Bucket Challenge after all…
In case you didn’t pay too much attention to it, the ice bucket challenge was set out by the ALS Association in an attempt to raise awareness and donations for its cause, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Since it was launched, famous and important people such as Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook and Bill Gates took up the challenge and proved just how easy it is to help out in a time of need.
How does it work? Well, all you have to do is name three other people just before you pour a bucket of ice cold water on your head. The people you called out are then to respond within 24 hours with their own names and, of course, pour the feared bucket on their precious little heads too.
So far, due to this internet sensation, the ALS Association has seen a 1,000 percent spike in donations over this time last year. That was before Mark and Bill took it to a whole new level. Now, David Duncan did it and challenged all 500,000 MINI owners in the US to do it as well, including their cars. Will you do it?
