Characterized by MINI with expressions such as “playful spirit”, “kind hearted” and with an “infectious laugh”, Jim McDowell, the leader of MINI USA announced he will be retiring at the end of the year.
His place will be taken by the Head of Western Region, David Duncan, a 15-year veteran of the BMW Group that will be bringing his experience in Sales, Marketing, Dealer Development and Aftersales to the table, according to his experience level.

As for Jim, he will forever be remembered for his decisive contribution to the expanding of the MINI brand across the ocean. He’s been with MINI USA for the past eight-plus years, being embraced by his coworkers and business partners.

“We wish Jim the best of luck on the next journey of his life and thank him for years of exceptional service for both the BMW and MINI brands. As we move forward we are certain that David’s energy and MINI-motoring spirit will continue to catapult the MINI brand into the future. He is a natural successor of Jim,” said Ludwig Willisch, President and Chief Executive Officer, BMW of North America.
