MINI to Bring Countryman at Milan Design Week 2010

After its world debut at this year’s Geneva Auto Show in March, the MINI countryman will also be one of the highlights of the 2010 Milan Design Week from April 13 – 19l. The car, which will go on sale in September 2010, forms the centrepiece of installations at Milan’s state university and the Triennale Design Museum.

The Fuori Salone 2010 show event, staged in the courtyard of Milan’s state university, will see MINI as the headline act in the Interni Think Tank.

The installation focuses on the number 4, due to the fact that the Countryman is the first MINI model to measure more than four metres in length and come with four doors and four-wheel drive.

As you can see, the installation has a rectangular container, whose longer sides form the word MINI in three-dimensional letters.
The external profile of the letters is highlighted by neon colors. The inner side of the installation features prints illustrating the design process behind the MINI Countryman.

On the other hand, the MINI & Triennale Creative Set allows visitors to take a tour through the creation of the new model. They walk along a tunnel, which is flanked on the right by a wall showing photos of characteristic features of the MINI Countryman and on the left by a reflection of the same details as graphics.

The tunnel emerges into a large room, on the ceiling of which are four oversized banners with motifs made up of a mosaic of hundreds of images. Behind the banners is the car itself.
