MINI Rolls-Royce Spotted in Honk Kong

BMW currently owns two of the most iconic British automotive brands in history: MINI and Rolls-Royce. However, they were careful enough to make sure they didn’t interfere too much in their business. Sort of...

Up until now, the two were kept apart, one going for the ultra rich and famous and one appealing to stylish young people that want a cosy, fast and agile car. While the interference in the MINI brand was more obvious, Rolls-Royce seems to have a more free hand.

However, a certain hybrid of the two was recently spotted in Hong-Kong and it makes quite an impact as soon as you see it. Based on a MINI Cooper S, the hatch seems to be wearing one of Rolls’ famous Pantheon grilles.

What, you don’t know what that is? Impossible. It’s that huge grille at the front of every Rolls-Royce ever made, a trademark feature just as famous as the kidney grilles on BMWs.

Furthermore, even the bonnet seems to have been changed to better accommodate the new feature, while just up top there’s a visible retractable mini-door that probably hides a Spirit of Ecstasy statue. Unfortunately, we don’t have any more info on this car but it’s definitely a head turner.

What we’re really curious about is what lurks inside. Rolls-Royce is known for making the best interiors around, decked with all sorts of custom features and expensive materials. If this MINI follows the same route, it could very well be the most expensive one ever made.

In the past, the two companies did cooperate on making a special edition car that was called the MINI Goodwood. Only 1,000 of them were ever made and only 140 units were sent to the US, for a starting price of $52,000.

Of course, this one wasn’t done by either MINI or Rolls-Royce, it was most likely a creation of some tuning company over in Hong-Kong but that doesn’t mean we can’t dream, right? If you have any more info on it, let us know!
