MINI will come to the 2011 Geneva Auto Show with the brand new Rocketman concept, a prototype that's almost the same size as the original Mini launched in 1959 but is said to incorporate the latest in automotive technology. The British iconic brand revealed most details of the concept, along with a set of photos, but here is the first video that shows what the MINI Rocketman is up to.

MINI has said nothing about a production version of the car, but hinted however that the prototype to be seen in Geneva will give us a hint into how the future lineup of the company will look like.

The concept measures 3.419 meters in length (133.8 inches), which means it is only a few centimeters longer than the original Mini launched in 1959. It is 1.907 meters (74.8 inches) wide and 1.398 meters (51.1 inches) tall.

As for the propulsion system, BMW's MINI hasn't provided too many details, mentioning only that the car is able to achieve remarkable ratings. It is a city car after all, so the 3.0 l/100km (78.4 mpg) figure should be pretty good for a car that's supposed to feel like home on crowded urban roads.

Have a look at the video after the jump, with more photos to be published in Press Day 1 at the Geneva show.

autoevolution will be attending the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
