MINI Presents New Ad Campaign

We’ve come to appreciate MINI for their impressive advertising campaigns. And once again the British car manufacturer has managed to make our jaws drop, as during the holidays it launched a new viral marketing campaign in Amsterdam.

The simple, yet interesting idea was to drop some MINI Cooper huge boxes around Amsterdam, as if Santa brought cars and people threw away the package, creativecriminals.com wrote. As simple as it might sound, the effect was quite powerful and the campaign had serious impact on people passing by.

Unfortunately, Heineken, the well known beer manufacturer, had the same idea and three days before MINI it started to plant huge “walk in fridge” boxes around town. This ad campaign also got a lot of attention from the curious public.

The latest MINI marketing campaigns include “Wash me,” a publication inspired by everyday situations from the auto world, says Nico Ammann, art director and photographer of the works featured in the book that was published by MINI Switzerland in a limited edition of 2,000 units.

Another interesting take on advertising was the recent MINI commercial called MINI Driver versus Non MINI Driver. The Mini TV commercial shows just how fun a MINI really is and how it can affect your personality. Just to get the idea, in the first scene, the “Not a MINI Driver” person tries to park a huge station wagon in a tiny space. Of course it doesn’t fit. But a Mini would have.
