We really don't know what to call the MINI Paceman. Is it a crossover with two doors or a bigger hatchback with jacked suspension and available all-wheel drive. It's probably a little bit of both, and it's also quite expensive.
That's doubly true if you live in Australia, where prices start at AUD35,900 for the Cooper version with a 122 hp 1.6-liter and a manual six-speed gearbox. That car will do 0 to 100 km/h in 10.4 seconds, while adding the automatic with make it even slower (11.5 seconds) and AUD2350 more expensive.
If speed is what you want, that's not a problem, provided you have the money to pay for the Cooper S Paceman, which gets a 184 hp 1.6-liter turbo engine that gets it to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds (7.8 seconds for the auto).
Compared to the Countryman, the Paceman is 10 mm (0.39 inches) lower to the ground and also 31 mm (1.22 inches) shorter. The arches have been widened, giving a sportier look. You’re not going to mistake it for a track car, but it might feel surprisingly sporty.
