Being the latest model added to the bunch, the Paceman recently received the complete JCW treatment to turn it into an even faster car than before. The guys from Car Advice took it out for a test, here's what they found.

The JCW Paceman, despite being considerably heavy, relies on the same 1.6-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine to call himself fast. The car is hooked up to an manual 6-speed gearbox and has a total of 214 HP and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque at its disposal.

The car feels stable on the road and does pretty much what you'd expect from a JCW edition. It reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.9 seconds, despite its 1,400 kg weight, and has a top speed of 225 km/h (140 mph).

The ALL4 all-wheel-drive system was also installed on the car they tested and proved its worth on all kinds of surfaces. However, the JCW Paceman starts at AUD58,600 and that is a bit steep for Australia.

The car they had was fitted with the brand new Chili package that brought them bi-xenon headlights with headlight washers, climate control air conditioning and an anti-dazzle rear-view mirror. Cloth/leather upholstery and a 10-speaker Harman/Kardon audio system with Bluetooth and USB/AUX connectivity was also included.

Actually, the car was perfect in many ways but the price tag drew it back a lot, making it only a car worthy of only 3.5 stars out of 5, in their opinion.
