MINI’s Countryman with two less doors should be ready for launch in Europe by Spring 2013, and it looks like the lifestyle crossover will be shown online within the next week or so, ahead of a likely debut at the Paris Motor Show at the end of the month.
A bunch of photos, most likely from the press pack, have leaked onto the internet already. Motoringfile quickly spotted them on MINI Space, but has since been forced to blur them. In their update, they say they say the photos they’ve had to blur will be “un-blurred sometime next week,” indicating an imminent web debut.
The Paceman will have a slightly lower roofline, reduced overall weight and a decrease in ride height by 0.4 inches (10 mm).
The engines will transfer over completely from the Countryman: Cooper, Cooper S, Cooper D and Cooper SD. However, since the car will also be lighter by 44 lbs (20 kg), all the models will also be slightly faster.
autoevolution will be attending the Paris Motor Show 2012, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
