Before the 2014 MINI Cooper Hardtop will be officially launched on the market, the company decided to offer 10 lucky MINI owners the chance to test all their favorite features on the new model.
The announcement was made at Woodcliff Lake, NJ, yesterday and it is concerning only US citizens. In order to win this special test drive, you have to own a MINI (or had one), film yourself telling MINI USA what you want to test on the new car and submit the video to the company’s US HQ.
10 people will be chosen based on what arguments they offer and get to test the new model before its official launch. They will also have the opportunity to design a one-off MINI with the MINI product team and an illustrator. Out of the bunch, one will be chosen by the public and offered for sale by MINI USA across the US.
“The final test drive of the new MINI Hardtop before it hits the showroom is a unique experience for our owners,” said Tom Salkowsky, Department Head, MINI USA Marketing.
“Giving our owners the opportunity to not only motor in the new MINI Hardtop before it goes on sale, but also to design their own MINI with our product team, is our way of thanking them for helping us bring this vehicle to life,” he added.
That’s not all. Of course, since the US branch of MINI is NOT NORMAL, so will the test drives. The participants will be flown to various locations around the country to properly test the new car and be recorded to show the world what’s been missing out on.
You can submit your videos on MINI’s website starting today and up until December 15, 2013 at 11:59 PM, US Eastern Time. The winners will be announced on January 28, 2014 and the tests will take place in February.
