The second generation of the John Cooper Works (JCW) GP special has just been unveiled, offering tweaked suspension, revised body work and slightly more power.
The headline grabber is the 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, which makes 218 PS instead of the 211 PS o the regular JCW, wile torque output remains the same as before at 260 Nm (192 lb-ft).
MINI has used BMW’s wind tunnels to re-engineer the body o the car, with better intakes, a more slippery underbelly and a rear wing that reduces lift coupled with a diffuser tail.
Other performance enhancements include different camber, better brakes and a new GP-exclusive lightweight wheel design.
MINI UK has not yet announced how many of the 2,000 units to be built will arrive on British shores. But they did say it will cost from £28,790 in the UK. Order books should not be open until the Paris Motor Show at the end of the month.
Just a small remind to all you go-faster fans out there, the Renault Megane 265 Cup is priced from £24840.00.
