Before properly launching the new Cooper on the US market, the team over at MINI decided to hand the keys of 10 cars to some of its most dedicated fans and let them test the wheels of the new hardtops. The result? Obviously a set of test... test drives, as MINI calls them.
Of course, to choose the winning names, a contest was put together and the winners were then flown to various locations in the US to have their way with the new cars.
The winners didn’t know what to expect and were taken completely by surprise by what the company had prepared for them. Each had a special scenario set up to emphasize one or more of the characteristics of the Mk3 model.
Such an occasion couldn’t be missed out on by the cameras and each contender was filmed in more or less ‘interesting’ situations, from medieval gauntlets to sexy photo shoots with the new Cooper S, they did them all.
