MINI Driver Wants to Go on the Wrong Way, Karma Says 'No' via a Police Car

It looks like cops are having a good week in motoring news these days. After we showed you some illegal drag racers getting pulled over yesterday, it’s time for a more down to earth car to get the same treatment.

One unlucky Australian driver and his MINI Cooper S were pulled over the other day after a rather funny turn of events. As you can see in the video below, the person behind the wheel wanted to enter what looks like a one-way street, probably to get to some office building or parking lot easier, without having to go around the block.

Unfortunately for him (or her), the cop car coming from the exact same lane the MINI was trying to get on was apparently invisible. What’s extraordinarily funny, however, is how the driver tries to play it cool.

He sees the car at the last moment and immediately stops. Then, he backs up slowly, trying to make it look as if he’s changed his mind and wants to go in a different direction.

Initially, we thought that the cops were going to let him go, judging by the fact that no light bar was turned on and no cop came out of the Holden Commodore station wagon. However, a couple of seconds later (as if the cops were thinking about what to do) the lights came on and it was at that moment the driver knew he was in trouble.

We’ll let you enjoy the hilarity of this video but bare in mind that this is all happening in Australia and that’s why everything seems the other way around. Driving is done on the right side of the road there. Or is the wrong side?
