Although the CEO did not mention which models will be built on the respective lines, rumor is one of them will belong to the soon-to-be presented MINI Coupe, which will leave the realm of the concept car and turn production.
The second line will be, according to pistonheads.com, reserved for the MINI two-seat convertible, dubbed Speedster, also expected to be unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show. The long-spied MINI Crossman however will not be built in the UK, but at a Magna Steyr facility.
Back to what is expected to the star of the MINI stand in Frankfurt, the MINI Coupe Concept is a mix of previous MINI models, with a twist of originality. Even if not officially confirmed as the one to make it into production, its manufacturer says the Coupe will be an "unusually attractive vision of how the model family may well develop in future." Rumor goes it will enter production, together with the Speedster, only in 2011.
As for the Crossman, it is said to be the big absentee from the Frankfurt Show. According to inside sources, the crossover is more likely to debut in early 2010 than next week.
