Honestly, we really hate how MINI is trying to force its hip attitude with lines of clothing, music videos or video that look fake. This promo video is also a bit fake, but since the car in it is so cool, we’ll let it slide.
In a promo video called ‘Expect the Unexpected’ they combine B-roll footage with some less-than-believable acrobatics. What we mean is that there’s no way the JCW crossover would be able to stop at the lip of that ledge. But it’s one heck of a good-looking machine, especially in black, and we can’t wait to get our hands on one.
Honestly, get rid of the skinny guy with tattoos, put a bunch of sexy girls in it and go rallying. We’ll watch that for hours! We bet that at the wheel of car in the video was someone nice and normal with good driving skills. Just show him and not some actor with a strange afro.
As a reminder, we’ll tell you that the MINI John Cooper Works Countryman comes with a tuned 1.6-liter engine 218PS (215 bhp) and 280Nm (207 lb-ft) of peak torque or 300Nm (221 lb-ft) with in overboost. That’s enough for a 0 to 100km/h (62mph) sprint in 7.0 seconds and tops out at 225km/h (140mph).
Look for fresh photos of this car when we get up close and personal with it at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
